Founder/Spiritual Guidance
Jayne was born and raised in New England and has been a R.I. resident for 50 years. Her family has owned and operated Sunnyside Restaurant in Warwick since 1984. She is a woman who proudly stands by her faith and ability to share her spirituality with others.
President
Carolina Caprio retired from the DOL Workers Comp division after 33 years. During retirement one day, she heard the unimaginable. YOU HAVE A HUGE BRAIN TUMOR - you need a craniotomy within 48 hours. After her recovery from brain surgery she was appointed Fundraising Chair to the RI Brain & Spine Tumor Foundation, raising close to $70K with her "dream team." In July 2019, Carolina became president of the Caroline Caprio Scholarship & Giving Fund board of directors.
Vice-President
Rusty is a proud dad to 2 wonderful daughters and grandfather to 4 boys. Work history includes sales trainer, gemologist, paramedic and currently in banking.
Executive Director
Susan has been a Senior Account Executive with Lamar Advertising for over 23 years. Susan is a lifelong Rhode Island resident with a BS in Marketing and MBA from JWU, married to Michael for over 35 years and is a breast cancer survivor.
Treasurer
Linda has been a small business owner since 2004, running her own bookkeeping, transcription and typing company. She comes from a large family of 13 and has had the opportunity to land great jobs prior to starting her business. Some of those jobs included; Electric Boat, Hasbro and Moses Brown School. Linda has been on many different boards and is also treasurer for several RI state representatives maintaining their campaign finances.
Fundraising Chair
Tommy is the President of Tommy's Pizza and Tommy's Fine Italian Foods for over 30 Years. Active in Community fundraising for local causes; Wounded Warrior Project, Providence and Cranston Youth Sports sponsors and coaching. Former Assistant Scout Master with The Boy Scouts of America. Married 28 years to Kimberly, proudly having two children, Alexandra and Thomas. Tommy is also a 20 year plus Cancer survivor.
Legal Counsel
Leo graduated from Suffolk School of Law and is involved with many civic organizations. He presently works with the legislative counsel to the RI General Assembly. In addition, Leo has his own private law firm; concentrating in criminal defense and personal injury law.
Son, brother, friend, husband, father, and grandfather. Brad previously managed health clubs and sold insurance. Brad's brain tumor operation was in 2017, and then he got Hypertrophic Olivary Degeneration (HOD) in 2018. “I think we simply fail to recognize miracles for what they are. Being alive is a miracle.“
Cindy has been a licensed mental health and family therapist since 2007. She received a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College in 1998, followed by a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Mental Health and Family Counseling from Rhode Island College in 2007. Cindy provided private practice counseling services for the past 15 years in Rhode Island.
Previously, Cindy was employed for 17 years by the Department of Labor as Asst. Administrator.
Mother to one son and grandmother of 2. Michelle received her nursing degree from CCRI in 2009. She has a strong background in hospice and palliative care. She currently works in home healthcare.
Auxiliary Fundraiser Support Staff
Carmele retired from Verizon with 30 years of service in the engineering department. A lifelong RI resident now residing in Warwick RI. Fundraising activity for the Rhode Island Brain & Spine Tumor Foundation, and currently serving on the board as secretary of the Caroline Caprio Scholarship & Giving Fund.
Auxiliary Fundraiser Support Staff
Raised in Bristol RI, Denise obtained a degree in Business Administration from Roger Williams College, worked for 37 plus years at The RI Department of Labor and Training, and retired in 2022. Denise has been a strong supporter of the TCCBTF, and prior to, assisted Caroline with fundraising efforts for the RI Brain & Spine Tumor Foundation.
Denise lives life by three simple words, ‘Pay it Forward.'
Emilio is the owner of Engel & Völkers Barrington East Bay and Engel & Völkers East Greenwich, where he, alongside his business partner Joe Fazio, leads a team of over 30 local Realtors and support staff. Beyond his real estate ventures, Emilio is the host of Rhode Island's most popular real estate show and podcast, broadcast on NewsRadio 920 AM, 104.7 FM, and globally streamed on the iHeartRadio app every Sunday at 10 AM.
Student Chair
Sandi grew up in R.I; although she has lived in Florida for some time, she will always consider R.I. her home. She has over 15 years’ experience in sales and marketing working with national brands Sandi enjoys volunteering for local charities.
Our organization is a nonprofit 501(c)3 and all of the donations we receive are for the support of our patients, as we are a donation-driven organization.

Darlene has been a huge supporter of The Caroline Caprio Scholarship and Giving Fund since it was founded by her sister Jayne Oliver.
Today, we have made Darlene an honorary Board Member, posthumously.
